The driving system of the grate can be configured with hydraulic segmented control, allowing for independent speed regulation of each section to optimize the combustion process based on fuel characteristics.

Unlike traditional single-step reciprocating grates, which may struggle with complete combustion of municipal waste, Dalian Sunshine has developed a three-level step-drop reciprocating grate structure. This innovative design promotes more thorough combustion, improving fuel efficiency and reducing unburned residues.

During operation, waste is fed through a hopper onto an inclined downward-moving grate, which is divided into several functional zones: the drying zone, combustion zone, and burnout zone. As the grate moves in a staggered reciprocating motion, it pushes the waste downward, turning and mixing the material as it moves from one zone to the next. This action ensures better contact between the fuel and air, enhancing combustion efficiency.

Combustion air is supplied from beneath the grate, mixing thoroughly with the waste. The high-temperature flue gas generated during combustion passes through the boiler’s heat exchange surfaces to produce steam, while simultaneously being cooled. After passing through the flue gas treatment system, the cleaned gas is safely discharged.
